About the author

Penny is a PhD student at University College London. Her principle interest is materials chemistry and her current research focuses on hydrogen production from solar water splitting using heterogeneous photocatalysts. For further details see the group website.

She did her undergraduate degree at the University of Bristol where her final year project focused on on ionic self assembly of conducting oligomers. For more information follow this link to the group website.

Penny spent her third year at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in America and asides from college life, became heavily involved in  a research project in semiconducting nanowires, again you can visit the group website to find out more.

Penny was a contributing writer to the science section of the University of Bristol student newspaper the Epigram. Not only focused on chemistry, Penny enjoys a wide range of science topics and believes in writing about science to excite and interest everyone!
